Tentang Bali Meditation Center
A non-profit meditation center in the peaceful heart of Sukawati, near Ubud — offering authentic retreats and weekly practice guided by experienced Buddhist monks, and sustained entirely by donation.
Sejarah
The seeds of the Bali Meditation Center were sown from a simple, yet profound, desire: to perform acts of kindness for our global community. Since ancient times, meditation has been a guiding light for countless individuals seeking inner harmony, and it was this age-old tradition that inspired the birth of BMC — a non-profit sanctuary in the peaceful heart of Sukawati, near Ubud, sustained entirely by donation.
Praktik Kami
We believe everyone has their own unique journey to inner peace. Unlike commercial wellness centers, BMC offers authentic meditation guided by experienced Buddhist monks who share ancient wisdom through simple, relatable methods for today's world. Guidance is personalised to each practitioner — whether you are taking your first breath in stillness or deepening a lifelong practice — and no experience is ever required.

The Abbot

This marks the second year of Bali Meditation Center’s (BMC) mission to share the gift of meditation and Buddhist wisdom. While the center has been open for three years, its efforts truly blossomed when we formed a dedicated, multilingual team capable of reaching Bali’s international community. Over the past two years (2023–2024), more than 9,000 people from 105 countries have joined our meditation sessions — a beautiful blessing for Thais, Indonesians, and the people of Bali.
This reminds me of the teachings of Luangpor Dhammajayo, who often said that while humanity seeks happiness, many are unsure of what true happiness really is. For those with the merits of past good deeds, meeting virtuous friends, finding supportive spaces, and receiving gentle guidance can open the way to discovering inner happiness through meditation. BMC is one of many centers around the world offering a safe and welcoming place to calm the mind, find stillness, and experience the peace that comes from within.

Luangpor taught that all suffering — whether personal, societal, or global — stems from the impurities (kilesa) that cloud the human mind. By purifying the mind through meditation, clarity and calmness arise, leading to inner peace. From this peace, compassion and goodwill naturally extend to loved ones, friends, and beyond, creating ripples of positivity that touch everyone. When enough people embrace this inner stillness, suffering diminishes, and even the challenges of the natural world soften through the collective energy of purified minds.
Here in Bali, we have been blessed to welcome participants from all walks of life — tourists, expatriates, and families. Their successes reaffirm Luangpor’s mission: “World Peace through Inner Peace” — the belief that helping others find inner peace through meditation will ultimately bring about global harmony. The simple practice of calming and stopping the mind not only fosters happiness but also inspires others to seek peace together.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Luangpor, as well as to our supporters and virtuous friends near and far, for enabling BMC to share the Dhamma and the Dhammakaya Knowledge of the Buddha with people around the world. May this shared merit bring happiness, prosperity, and peace to everyone — both living and departed. May all beings everywhere find the inner peace that leads to lasting joy and harmony.
